We kick off tonight with hand made pizzas, a fully stocked bar and after a short break the TABLE TENNIS table is back, hurrah!

 

 

Sunday 12-4

Local topside of beef roasted in English mustard, with Yorkshire puddings or root vegetable gratin with parsnip puree. Both served with roasties and seasonal vegetables.

Pud this week is a chocolate orange cheesecake.

Exhibition by local painter Glenys Jacques continues (for other opening hours, please see our website) this Thursday evening, including an artists talk with music.

 

 

Food will be served from 7-9, this weeks menu is a choice of Tacos: slow cooked spiced brisket of local beef or roast pepper & feta with a selection of sides.

Friday – Black Huts Festival

“Shall We & Why Not”

Documentary film maker Colin Still presents his film on seminal American poet Robert Creeley followed by readings from poets Jennifer Dunbar Dorn (over from Denver) & Stuart Montgomery.

Saturday Evening – Black Huts continues – Bar & Kitchen from 6. Entertainment from 7.30.

DESCANT ON RAWTHEY’S MADRIGAL – an evening of poetry, film and music in honour of Northumbrian poet Basil Bunting.

Followed by live music from four piece band Grasscut.

Tickets £10 or £8 concs. Alternatively, tickets to both the afternoon & evening shows can be purchased at £15 or £12 concs.

Christmas Bookings have begun!

We are now taking bookings for December: whether it be a family gathering, a staff party or you’re celebrating your birthday we’d like to hear from you. We are happy to cater, be it a buffet of hand made goodies or a three course feast all served up with seasonal drinks and that bit of sparkle.

A speakeasy, also commonly known as a blind pig or blind tiger, is a secret and illegal establishment set up for the sale of alcohol. Coming into prominence in the USA during the Prohibition era of the 1920’s, where the sale, manufacture, and transportation of alcoholic beverages was totally illegal . Thank goodness that ended.

The weekend is almost here!

We kick off our weekend with a Thursday night. Open from 7pm our bar and kitchen will be ready to serve you a fine selection of food and drinks. Come and meet friends, bring your latest knitting project or score a few rounds on the table tennis, everyone welcome…

 

This weeks Thursday menu is a Greek style Meze including Keftedes (Greek meat balls or a vegetarian alternative of aubergine balls) with greek salad, houmous, tzatziki, gigantes & pitta breads. Food served till 9 but come early to avoid disappointment.
