Happy New Year!

This Sunday we are flinging our doors open once again to kick off 2019 with one of our classic roasts…

From midday onwards we’ll be offering a locally sourced pork with home made apple sauce or our own vegetarian or vegan Nut Roast, each served with roasties, seasonal vegetables and gravy.

Dessert is chocolate sponge with chocolate custard or vegan Sticky Toffee Pudding with vanilla (dairy free) ice cream.

A little note to say…

Our Thursday evenings will start again in the spring when the weather is good (hopefully) and a new menu has been written (definitely), we will post soon about opening dates and times.

A Big Christmas Sale

Thursday 7-11

Home cooked, locally sourced dishes each week. This Thursday its The Beacon team cooking up spicy lamb meatballs with a home made tomato sauce with an equally delicious vegetarian alternative (we always cater for vegans too) both served up with rice and mixed salads.

Sunday Lunch 12-4

This week we have locally sourced pork (not pictured) or White Nut Roast. Both served with roast potatoes and a selection of seasonal vegetables. To begin feeling slightly festive, our dessert this week is a Mince Pie Brownie with Vanilla ice cream.

Thursday 7-11 Candy’s Veggie Diner 

Hand made, hand rolled veggie and vegan HOT DOGs, who’da thought? If anyone can, Candy can! Hand made chorizo style hot dogs, in a locally baked subway roll, served up regular with caramelised onions, gherkins, ketchup, and mustard or Mexican style with salsa, grated cheese (vegan cheese too), jalapeños & corn chips . Both come with a Mexican side salad, home made BBQ slow cooked beans and corn chips.


Sunday Lunch 12-4 

Local roast lamb with minted redcurrant jelly or Butternut Dauphinois (v) (vegan dish always available too), both served up with the classic trimmings. We have Pecan Pie or a vegan Sticky Toffee Pudding for afters this week. To book please call us on 01424 431 305.


Kolkata Home Cooking

Thursday 7-11 (kitchen til 9)

If you missed last months cooking, by local resident and friend Pranesh, then here’s another chance. Authentic Kolkata cooking, all vegetarian and totally delicious. Expect Moug Dal, rice, labra, onion bagi, aubergine fries and tomato chutney. Intrigued? Us too….

Whats better is that all profits from this meal go to the Seap project, providing support for health and social care service users. Winning!

Sunday Lunch 12-4

This weeks delight is a local roast beef with Sarah’s cracking Yorkshire puddings and a new dish, the White Nut Roast with artichokes which comes with Mum’s bread sauce. Goes without saying that both dishes come with all you want with a classic roast. Dessert this week is a Pecan Pie with vanilla ice cream.

Local pulled pork or spiced chickpea patty with avocado. Both served up with winter slaw, house BBQ sauce, mayo and fried potatoes.

Sunday Lunch 12-4

Locally sourced roast chicken with stuffing or Beets, Leeks & Onions (not pictured above) on a bed of chickpea mash. Both served with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Dessert this week is Crumble & custard.

Latest from the bar  Local mulled cider. Come and warm up with a jar of warm Apple Pie cider, made by Kent based cider makers, Turners.

Bringing it home, the Beacon team are in the kitchen this week making classic British pies. Expect a creamy local chicken and leek, a cheese & onion and a lentil mushroom wellington for the vegans. All served with warm potato and mixed salads.

Locally sourced roast pork or Veggie Wellington with all your best trimmings. Dessert this week is a rather wonderful ice cream cake with hot chocolate sauce.
