Mulled cider & a right festive treat…

As we approach that time of year, our menu eeeks closer to it too.

With a Gingerbread, caramel and pear Trifle, a jam packed Nut Roast and a local roast lamb with all the trimmings, there’s something for everyone.

We’ve been busy perfecting our recipe for mulling, gently warming organic cider, cloudy apple juice, plenty of spices and a tweak of rum at the end. Warming!

Happening this FRIDAY 7pm, she still has places available so book in now if you can. Expect hand made Falafel (the best we’ve tried) or Halloumi, citrussy Houmous, cabbage slaw, herby Tabbouleh and even a hand made flat bread. Not only that but we now stock vegan wines and beers too!

A Night of Greek Mythology…

Its been a while since we hosted a supper talk but as the winter draws in, they’re back! And we kick off with this one which will not disappoint.

Come and hear speaker, Christo Georgadidis who came to England as a teenager and has spent his working life teaching in Steiner schools. Throughout his lifetime he has nurtured a passion for the myths, legends and stories of Ancient Greece, which he will share with you. Travel with him on an evolutionary journey from mythological to historical consciousness, from the Iliad to the Seven Sages to Herodotus.

Tickets £17 which includes a two course supper of vegetarian Moussaka or vegan Aubergine Gratin, a fine salad and home made flat breads. Limited space left for this week’s classic roast but book soon and we can hopefully get you in. This week we’ll be roasting local lamb served with a minted redcurrant jelly or for vegetarians a leek, kale & Gruyere tart and for vegans a lentil roast Wellington. Each come with a choice of potato Dauphinois or roasties, seasonal vegetables and a home made gravy. Dessert this week is an apple Upside Down Cake baked with our own apples!

Myths, Legends and Stories of Ancient Greece

The Ancient Greeks used gods, heroes, and mythological creatures to explain their world. Scholars through the ages have studied these stories in order to better understand the politics, philosophies and religions of this ancient civilisation, and there have been countless translations and novels influenced by them.

Christo Georgadidis, our speaker, came to England as a teenager, and has spent his working life teaching in Steiner schools, returning every summer to his native and beloved Greece. Throughout his lifetime he has nurtured a passion for the myths, legends and stories of Ancient Greece, which he shares with you tonight.
