Come and join us for a warming home cooked meal in your local hilltop retreat. We’ve got a classic Cottage Pie or a vegan Shepherds Pie, both served with local greens and glazed carrots. Excellent washed down with a glass of our locally sourced wine or even a cold beer.

This weeks menu is a local topside of beef or our favourite nut roast which comes on a bed of celeriac puree. Both dishes served with classic trimmings.

For afters we have a sticky toffee pudding.

We’re back!

After a short spell of maintenance, a swift re-stock of the shelves and a lick of paint, we are ready to welcome you through our doors at the beginning of February…

We re-boot this year with the first of this years Thursday nights, the 2nd February from 7pm.  With a menu set to warm your heart and your cockles, come and join us for a drink, a chat, bring your mates or come alone. Play table tennis or Scrabble, read a book or just relax. Your weekly retreat on the hill is back!

Following that, Sunday the 5th is the first of this years Sunday lunches. Hooray!

January 2017 

We’ll be closed throughout January to do a bit of maintenance on the old girl (the house that is) but do get in touch with regards to hiring us in the New Year.

Christmas Open Studios

We have a fully festive weekend here for you…

Thursday 7-11

The tree is up, the fire is lit and we’re slow cooking local beef in mulled wine! We’ll also have a gorgeous winter vegetable stew, both served with celeriac mash and local greens. Come for a mulled cider, to hang out with friends, read a book or play a round of table tennis.

 

Christmas Open Studios – Saturday & Sunday 11-5

Our first ever yuletide open studios should not be missed. We have two floors to check out, each containing stalls of great goods from local creatives. Downstairs, our bar is open selling mulled cider, teas/coffees and a selection of cakes as well as lunch.

If you’re not quite ready to embrace the festive season then, well, join the club. Except, we are decorating the bar this week so we promise it’ll look pretty…and that there’ll be no tinsel or dancing elves.

 

This weeks Thursday menu is an Italian spread of oven baked beef Ragu or our own made pesto with fresh pasta and green salad. That should even out the Christmas theme a bit!

IMG_0099 (1)Our cousin Tim, the gamekeeper, has supplied us with some fresh local pheasants for this weeks Sunday lunch. We roast them in cider with bacon, truly amazing. As supplies are limited we ask that you pre-order so please get in touch ASAP to book. A pheasant meal for two, including mulled local cider is just £30.
