Goodbye January. Hello February!

Lets celebrate the end of that dreaded month with a cracking roast this Sunday.

Locally sourced roast loin of pork marinaded in Juniper & Allspice berries or deliciously stuffed squash. Served with lentils braised in red wine, chicory salad and pot roast red cabbage. Swiftly followed by a chocolate orange cake and creme fraiche.

A small but perfectly formed exhibition of their journey into art; Sarah and Judy recently showed this homage to their Dad at Pelham House, Lewes. Exhibition at the Beacon opens this Sunday, 31st January 12-4pm. See website for further opening times.

Back after special request is one of our favourite menus. This Sunday (12-4) come and enjoy a traditional Sunday roast with a twist.

Start off with a warming cup of our homemade lentil dal and follow it up with a choice of either locally sourced roast chicken marinaded in a super blend of Indian spices or a splendid roast vegetable curry.

We’re Back!

Hello, hope the New Year has started well for you. We have been busy doing up the space downstairs, the latest look is soon to be revealed. But in the mean time. come and see us this Sunday for the first of this years lunches.

To kick start our latest line up of menus, we have a local pot roasted beef in a rich stock with wine, crispy garlic roast potatoes, celeriac puree, roasted carrots and seasonal greens. For you veggies, we have an amazing chestnut & artichoke nut roast. SPLENDID.

Our bar, although a work in progress, will be open serving up a selection of wines, beer and other soft drinks. We’ll also have a delicious home baked cake for those who just fancy a coffee and sweet treat.

Happy New Year!

To start this year as we mean to go on, we’ve decided to dedicate the first couple of weeks to The Beacon and treat her to a bit of a face lift.

Its A Wonderful Weekend

This weekend is our final open house of the year so we are going all out to celebrate, hope you can make it.

We kick off with a clothes sale on Saturday, 12-6. Come and have a browse of the latest in house fashion line, designed by Judy. Fabulous denim workwear with a salute to certain vintage styles, Judy will be here to assist with fittings and to serve you a cup of something mulled!

Locally sourced whole roast chicken marinaded in Tikka spice

Roast vegetable curry

Both served with roast Bombay potatoes, carrot coriander salad, chickpea Chaat, Nan bread & a cinnamon infused gravy

Hi-Fest BrunchFest

This weekend sees the return of Hastings one and only illustration festival. Taking place this Saturday within the Atrium, Hi-Fest is a marvellous concoction of everything illustration: from stalls of fab work through to workshops and talks, theres something for everyone!

So, here’s where we come in. Hi-Fest will continue throughout the weekend and Sundays session begins here at The Beacon. As a special request and for this week only, we are opening earlier to bring you a more brunchy menu and will also be displaying new works from local illustrators.

From 11-3, the kitchen will be serving up a choice of

Chorizo, red onion, potato stack, Harissa roast tomatoes, wilted spinach & a poached egg £6 (veg option available £5)

Or

Our home roast ham, bubble & squeak potatoes with Clubhouse smoky beans £7 (Add an egg for 50p) (Veg option, swap the ham for wilted spinach and poached egg – £6)

Followed by a chocolate pot £3

 

We will also have freshly baked cake, organic coffee and a selection of wines, beer, G&T…..or why not have a Bloody Mary.

This weeks Sunday lunch

We can’t quite believe its been a whole month but here we are again at the glorious PIE WEEK. This Sunday (12-4) choose from either free range chicken, leek & tarragon or a cheesy leek & celeriac puff pastry pie. Both will be served with twice baked potatoes, roasted organic carrots, garden peas and cavalo nero. This home baked feast will be followed by individual jars of our clementine cheesecake. The bar is open as are our doors so come on in!
