Our Wilderness & Wild Tales!

Our patch down the end, fondly known as The Wilderness, is at its best right now, generously giving the goods (ok so there’s been ample elbow grease from team garden too) and we’re happy to share – New to the Sunday lunch menu, our Allotment Platter is a vibrant, fresh and healthy offering with zero miles to boot. Surely you can add an extra glass of wine to make up for all that, eh?

  • Seaside Platter; home cured salmon, smoked mackerel pate & brown shrimp, homegrown salads, pickles, dill sauce & freshly baked bread
  • Allotment Platter (all veggies homegrown!); Courgette frittata, beetroot, fresh pesto, salad selection & freshly baked bread

Desserts this week are raspberry jam & coconut sponge with custard or a vegan chocolate brownie with ice cream.

Ready for more Wild Tales?

So folks, Wild Tales are back with us again this week cooking up a fresh and vibrant menu from our Garden Kitchen. We have seating al fresco and, of course, inside. Fully stocked bar too, come and dodge the crowds by winding your way down our beaten track!

Wild Tales Thursday & Friday 5-9 Saturday 12-9

Not forgetting our house Roast, taking place every Sunday. Locally sourced meat, always a vegetarian/vegan option, homegrown vegetables and all prepared fresh to order.

On the menu this Sunday…

  • Local roast lamb, homegrown redcurrant sauce
  • Our best nut roast (vegetarian or vegan), celeriac steak, squash puree

Each served with Yorkshire pudding, roasties, homegrown vegetables and our own brewed gravy.

  • Fish Platter; home cured salmon, smoked mackerel pate, brown shrimp, homegrown salads & freshly baked bread

Desserts this week are Beacon Mess; crushed meringue, freshly whipped cream and summer berries or a vegan Sticky Toffee Pudding

Looking forward to next week

Whilst Wild Tales are away busily working at Glastonbury, we’re excited to have the wonderful Homeground Kitchen host a pop-up kitchen takeover! Bringing world cuisine to our tables, HGK will be creating a Korean menu for this week only, Thursday 22nd (4-9) Friday 23rd (4-9) Saturday (12-4).

As part of this weekend, there will also be a debut supper club…

Sappho Suppers on Saturday 24th at 7pm (£30pp for a three course Vietnamese dinner plus live music), booking is essential but please contact the HGK team directly on the contacts above to reserve your place. Thanks.

Your Weekly Wild Tales!

If you haven’t yet been to see us, the garden is in bloom and now ready for al fresco dining! We are also, of course, prepped for inclement weather and can provide cosier indoor seating too.

For the summer months we will be open weekly Thursday & Friday evenings, plus Saturday (lunch & dinner service) working in collaboration with newly formed venture Wild Tales, cooking up locally sourced ingredients outdoors, using the wood fired oven and grill. Our Sunday Roasts resume as normal too.

Wild Tales Round The Fire…

A brilliant first week here, welcoming Wild Tales to our garden kitchen – they’ll be with us all summer cooking up a storm with locally sourced ingredients by fire, every week Thursday & Friday evening (4-9) and Saturday all day (12-9), our bar will of course accompany them (and you) around these times. PLUS, Sunday ROAST continues weekly too!

Expect local meats, fish and vegetables all brought together with wickedly fresh flavours. For a more detailed menu, it may be best to contact us on the day of your visit as dishes vary due to availability.
