Thursday 12th – Rosie Brown Band Plus Bev Lee Harling

WOAH! This is going to be stunning, expect the most wonderful sounds served alongside food from Home Ground Kitchen. Not to be missed!

Saturday 14th – The Others Market Third Edition

The crew are back with another weird and wonderful market; there’ll be music, stalls, great food from Home Ground Kitchen and our bar will be open, freak out!

As already mentioned, Home Ground Kitchen will be here on both of the above events cooking up a storm….well a dish called Dan Dan Noodles.

One of the most iconic and dare I say delicious street foods of Sichaun. Thin noodles are served in a rich, savoury, spicy, sesame sauce topped with pork or temphe, greens and peanuts. Stir everything together and slurrrrp. The love affair starts here!

Sunday 15th ROAST 12.30-4ish

  • Roast chicken, Beacon stuffing
  • Our Favourite Nut Roast (v) or (ve), squash puree, celeriac steak

Each served with Yorkshire pudding, roasties, seasonal vegetables and a home brewed gravy

  • Baked cod with a crisp herby crumb, garlic tomatoes, creamed spinach, roasties and greens

Desserts this week are vegan sticky toffee pudding or a classic raspberry & coconut sponge.

This Saturday!

A fusion of two iconic cuisines, Sichuan and Japanese. These ancient cultures have  for centuries, borrowed from each other and cross pollinated to create some of our favourite flavours. Think rich umami, cooling salads, spicy stews and rice in all its glory.

This Saturday come and enjoy live music from local band, Crunchy Bat! Doors at 5.30, fully stocked bar and Fungi fusions from the kitchen, brought to you by Robbie of Basils Fungi Farm. Intrigued? The event is free entry, but a small donation would be welcomed…

Seasons Changes

So guys, as the season is changing, so are we.

Wild Tales have ventured on (look them up for any catering you need for larger events!) and we are no longer open as we did through the summer months.

BUT, its not the end! We will still be open every SUNDAY for a home cooked ROAST!

PLUS! Between now and Christmas we have a calendar or events and pop ups to see us through the winter. Our space is also available for private hire, see HERE for more info on that…

A Comedy Night! Plus, What’s On Our Plates…

Its a bit of a mix this week but its how we roll sometimes!

Thursday 7th – House Delights

Judy (Lady of the House) will be treating us for another week with home made falafel, koftas, salads and more. Also, freshly made drinks using hand picked fruits from the land – YUM

Friday 8th – Comedy Night (7pm)/Wild Tales (4-9pm)

So, firstly, a night of Comedy, hooray! We’ve enjoyed several evenings with Kamikaze Komedy in other lovely local venues so are very pleased to host one right here in our place. Tickets are available now and from HERE, we highly recommend booking. As this is a ticketed event, please note the back garden will be for eating and drinking only and the remainder of the venue will be saved for Kamikaze. You may, of course, do both just perhaps time it so you don’t miss any of the show. Cheers.

So potential thunder storms incoming (whats new?) but we’ve got some lovely ideas for you, including a roof over your head, some live music and a lovingly cooked meal brought to you at your table. Here’s what…

Thursday – Bear & I

Plus, the lady of the house will be taking care of the evenings menu…

£10 supper is homemade tahini & hummus & falafel, griddled courgettes, salad & pitta bread

£12 supper is lamb koftas, cucumber & yoghurt dip, butter beans, salad and griddled courgettes

£12 home-cured salmon smorgasbord, with smoked mackerel pate, homemade pickled dill cucumber & potato salad

Also on the menu are the delicious fresh garden fruit cocktails – £7 with vodka, £5 with soda water.

We hope not – but with a spot of rain potentially coming in tomorrow, we’re not put off…and neither should you be! So, here’s whats happening with us up here on the hill…

Thursday 24th – Judy’s Late Summer Lounge 4-9

With the braziers blazing at sundown, come and snuggle up in her collection of sofas.

Drink: jewel-like intense flavoured fruit cordials from the garden (mulberry, blackberry, plum) in a spirit of your choice (£7) or non-alcohol choice of iced sparkling water (£5) 

Eat: Tasty Balls! Falafel, pork, beef, lamb, fish, served with the last of the Wilderness courgettes, griddled, home grown tomato salad, green salad or tomato sauce.
