What’s cooking?

Friday 25th – Candy’s Diner 7pm

Another exciting instalmant coming up from our Candice. And this time, its Tacos! Mexican spiced Halloumi or Tofu and a vast array of sides to stuff into a soft Taco shell, YUM! Booking is essential as food is limited so please get in touch with either us or Candice to book your place….

Myths, Legends and Stories of Ancient Greece

The Ancient Greeks used gods, heroes, and mythological creatures to explain their world. Scholars through the ages have studied these stories in order to better understand the politics, philosophies and religions of this ancient civilisation, and there have been countless translations and novels influenced by them.

Christo Georgadidis, our speaker, came to England as a teenager, and has spent his working life teaching in Steiner schools, returning every summer to his native and beloved Greece. Throughout his lifetime he has nurtured a passion for the myths, legends and stories of Ancient Greece, which he shares with you tonight. Travel with him on an evolutionary journey from mythological to historical consciousness, from the Iliad to the Seven Sages to Herodotus.

Doors 6.30pm for 7PM start. £17 includes a 2 course vegetarian supper. Booking Essential.

Come and enjoy some comforting home cooked food, Diner style. Brought to you by local lady, Candice, this time she’ll be serving a menu of a curried sweet potato burger (with a Halloumi option for non vegans), home made curry sauce and tomato chutney, lettuce, red onion and topped with Bombay mix in a local poppy seed bun. Served with Bombay style potatoes and an onion salad.

Christmas Is Coming Too

So, we have here our Christmas menu! We are available for private functions throughout the festive season, whether it be with your colleagues or friends, perhaps a family occasion – Come and celebrate in our home from home setting. Seasonal cocktails, log fires and traditional decorations. We can even play a festive list of records, if thats what takes your fancy.

Minimum 20 guests but the entire venue is yours for the duration of your booking.

Returning for the autumn with six sessions of heart lifting harmony singing for parents. Bring your baby or toddler or come on your own. Friends without children, family and grandparents are welcome too.
Starts at 1.30 finishing with a cuppa and a slice of cake from our bar.

Celebrating Christmas with us

We are currently writing our seasonal menu but its not too early to get your party booked in. Whether its friends gathering or your office of colleagues, we can host! We welcome the season in with traditional decorations, seasonal cocktails and a fine menu. Log fires, bad Santas and awkwardly placed Mistletoe all included….

This weeks roast will be a local lamb with home made condiments or a Nut Roast with our own red onion marmalade (v) (ve), both will be served with roasties and a selection of seasonal vegetables.

Exhibition by HUT Studio continues in main room and bar, show ends at the end of this month.

AND its really worth it this year, they’re all so good!

Local artist, Mark Daniels has hidden several of his hand made little foxes around the garden for you to find, he makes one every time he spots a fox in real life but the ceramic ones are just as cute.

Saturday 11-6

So, browse the studios, meet the artists and see their wares. Come and check out the colourful paintings that currently adorn the dining room and bar walls by three supreme illustrators. Have a home cooked lunch, a drink from the bar or a slice of one of our home baked cakes. This Saturdays lunch is a roast veg lasagne, a local pork Ragu, fresh salads and local breads, served til 4.

Sunday 11-6

Open Studios continues but lunch on the Sunday is our usual roast. We’ll be serving local beef with Yorkshire pudding or a new dish of vegetarian “Toad-in-the-hole”, both with the classic trimmings.
