Wild Tales; Garden Kitchen Takeover!

This Thursday marks the opening of new venture Wild Tales, here at The Beacon. Using locally sourced meat, fish and vegetables, chefs Mark & Tia will be creating delicious dishes within our wood fired oven and newly installed grill.

Wild Tales will be running the garden kitchen throughout the summer so as well as our Sunday roast, we will be serving food every week Thursday (4-9), Friday (4-9), Saturday (12-9) and Sunday (12-4). The Beacon bar will, of course, be open around these times to quench every thirst…

Wild Tales Menu (dishes may change due to availability)

Small Dishes

  • Pork & apple Terrine, pickles, sourdough toast £8
  • Cheddar beignets, chilli sauce £7
  • Frito Misto, aioli £9

And then

  • Wood fired local fish stew, fennel, saffron rouille, sourdough £19
  • Winchelsea farm onglet, triple cooked chips, chimichurri £18
  • Salt marsh lamb breast stuffed with wild garlic, spinach & pine nuts, white beans & leeks, green sauce £15
  • Half wood roast chicken, smoky braised spring greens £16
  • Aubergine chermoula, pearl barley tabouleh, tahini (v) £14

Sides £4

  • Grilled little gem, anchovy dressing
  • wood roast carrots, orange, yogurt
  • wood roast new potatoes, confit garlic & rosemary

Sunday Roast

  • local roast pork, homemade apple sauce
  • Beacon best Nut Roast (v) or (ve)

Each served with roasties, Yorkshire pudding, seasonal vegetables and a home brewed gravy

  • Hand made fish cakes, chilli sauce & roasties

Dessert this week is a choice of Banoffee Pie or vegan Sticky Toffee Pudding

Also, we are open on bank holiday Monday for Jack in the Green
