We’ve been beavering away at the end of our land, erected a poly-tunnel, dug patches and planted trees with an aim to grow our own fruit & veg. Its always been a large part of our ethos to source as many of our ingredients as locally as possible and within reach, from the spinach in your nut roast and the jars of fresh pesto to the odd green bean in your vegetable medley; what we have, we use…

All of our meat is ethically sourced from small, traditionally run Homestead Farm, near Battle. The animals are extremely well cared for and range freely. This means the carbon footprint is very low and the quality very high!
Our chickens are from Primal Grazing, fish (only usually used on special occasions and for starters when we’re open) is always from local Rock-a-nore, eggs are delivered from nearby free ranging hens (although its not actually them that do the delivery, sadly), our bread is always baked in house and every dish we make, is from scratch. Nothing is mass produced or processed.
More to come on that but for now, here’s this week…

- Homestead farm pork with homemade apple sauce £18
- Spinach & artichoke Filo pie (v) – individual parcels of fresh spinach, sunblush tomatoes, artichokes, Ricotta and fresh herbs (please let us know if you’re vegan) £16
Each main comes with roasties, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pud and a home brewed gravy.
Desserts £6.50

- Banoffee Pie
- Vegan chocolate cheesecake (not pictured)

When are we opening?

We look forward to opening the gates once again although this is still very much dependant on current restrictions. Our plan, for now, is to open on Sunday the 18th April. Tables will be limited to keep all diners well spaced and within guidelines. We are taking bookings now so please do let us know if you’d like to visit for lunch. Further opening hours to be announced when we know more…
